BEST BLOOMS EVER

I think I pruned the Limelight Hydrangea just right.  The last image show what this gorgeous plant looked like in March after pruning.  I love the hints of pink that will become more pronounced as we enter Fall.

MY SPECTACULAR LIMELIGHT HYDRANGEA

Every August I repeat that the Limelight Hydrangea was the best addition to my garden.

LIMELIGHT HYDRANGEA BOUQUET

Every Fall I gather my Limelight Hydrangea blooms and bring them inside to enjoy.  I always thought you had to dry them and then create the arrangement.  I was surprised when I clipped them and placed them directly into the container.  They dry naturally inside.  It’s so easy and they’re so lovely.  This year I used a white pottery jug as a container and placed them in the foyer.

This year I noticed that there are hints of pink mixed in with the lime green.

HEAT DOESN’T MATTER IN THIS SUMMER GARDEN

My Limelight Hydrangea, Russian Sage, and Lantana are thriving in this summer heat.

How is your summer garden faring in this heat?

MY AMAZING HYDRANGEA CROP

A frost is on the way so I wanted to get those amazing blooms inside and enjoy them just a bit longer.

I filled a large gathering basket to the brim.

I hope they'll last for a while.

HUGGING A PAGODA

Every Fall I prune my limelight hydrangea, encouraging a sphere-like shape for the Spring blooms.  Every Spring the blooms defy my symmetry attempts.  Last year they cascaded and mingled into the rhododendron.  This year they defied me again and tumbled in another direction and embraced my pagoda.

I wonder which direction it will choose next year.

BEST BLOOMS EVER ON MY BUTTERFLY BUSH

I planted my Butterfly Bush in front of the chimney last year. and wanted it to spread up and out and fill the space.  I was very disappointed with its performance, but this year it's everything I was hoping for and more.  It has taken over where the Limelight Hydrangea left off, creating a burst of white blooms as a follow up to the fading hydrangea.

The bees love the blooms.

Unrelated but I had to share how the Lantana and Vinca have grown around my French Bulldog.

SUMMER'S LAST BLOOMS AND SOME DOG PHOTO BOMBS

I just wanted to share these goodbye to Summer welcome Fall garden images.  Of course Bella made sure to make an appearance in the garden.

Another dog photo bomb from my low maintenance pet.

Don't miss my huge blue sphere garden accent.

I added a butterfly bush in front of the chimney.  It's flanked by some Giant Black Eyed Susans and admired by Bella.

My Perennial Hibiscus was a bit of a disappointment this summer.

More Giant Black Eyed Susans flank the kitchen porch.  I wonder what Bella has found?

LIMELIGHT

Every August I write about how much I love my Limelight Hydrangea.  Here we go again.   Its blooms never disappoint.  This is the view from the street.  It tucks itself perfectly in to the angle of the house.
