GLAM BAR STOOLS

I have two islands in my kitchen.  The one closest to the sink has always been my prep table.  The other was intended to be our kitchen island counter.   I can't believe how long it took me to find counter height stools that I liked AND ones that tucked under the island.

OUR DOUBLE ISLANDS

If you had told me that I would pick glam bar stools I wouldn't have believed you.  That's exactly what I finally purchased.  I'm in love with the brass base.  The seats are really thick and comfortable.  The family loves them.   They also love the convenience of snacking at the island.  We've been eating all our meals here instead of at the large dining table.  Who knew?

Another feature I like is the foot rest.

One day when I was at Home Goods I found this bowl.  I had no business being there but unfortunately Home Goods is right next to the grocery store.  How could I not stop in!  There was no way I was leaving that black bowl with a gold rim behind.  It looked like it was made for my kitchen.

I added some buffalo checked napkins with bee napkin rings to the bowl.

I think my kitchen is complete.  Maybe.

INSIDE OUT IN SEPIA, SHADOWS, AND SILHOUETTES

We had our first snow storm in almost two years.  These photos through the window grids appear as black and white images. The fern and shells inside look like shadows; the snow their back drop.

Through another window grid the snow coats my Tulip Magnolia's branches.  You can see the top of the snowy stripes on my pergola in the lower right corner.

The top of my bar cart and the framed prints on the window create another silhouette.

The protected front porch even got a dusting.

Do you love the way snow changes the landscape?  I do.
