Color Combo: Turquoise and Yellow

If you ever told me that I'd have turquoise and yellow in my kitchen,  I never would have believed you.   But, I fell in love with a boho chandy with just that color combo.

I recently purchased an L-shaped banquette.  For now I only have some linen pillows and some turquoise leopard print ones on it.  At some point I'll upholster it, but for now we're ok.  It has served us well when trying to seat a crowd during the holidays.  I also added some yellow and white striped draperies.

Did you notice the foo dogs?  They were in another room, but had to move to the window sill.

Around the other side of the banquette I have some chinoiserie chairs.

This fabulous yellow ware handled bowl also moved to the kitchen.

Of course my black-eyed susans bloomed in the perfect color just outside the window.

The First Blooms In My Perennial Garden

Last year I created a perennial cottage garden in my front and side yard.  It was late in the summer so this actually is the first time I'm enjoying all the plants as they take turns blooming.

I received these lilies as a birthday gift from a friend.  They surround the mailbox.

All but one of the lilies is yellow.

I always think that a yucca plant is not very attractive, but when it blooms,  I totally rethink my opinion.  I couldn't choose just one shot of it.

My lime green hostas near my front porch are my absolute favorite.  The tall blooms are a bonus.

The phlox isn't new to the garden but I always enjoy seeing its color near the screened porch.

I also add some annuals for all summer color.  These vinca are very happy in their vintage cement planter.  How fun is the gargoyle?
