MY FAVORITE DISHES

 If you haven’t noticed, I have an obsession with dishes.  I selected some of my favorites and restyled the cupboard in my butler’s pantry in green and white with gold accents.

CORNER CUPBOARD IN GREEN AND WHITE

The top shelf  has my favorite transferware in green.  I’ve sold off a lot of my vintage dishes but I don’t think I’ll ever part with these green and white dishes.  They actually directed the cupboard styling.  In the center is a large white Italian cachepot and ginger jar salt and pepper.  On the shelf below are some scalloped oyster plates.  I added the pair of green bookends just because they were the right color.

The next shelves hold some of my cabbage leaf collection.  The white luncheon plates are a variation of the green ones.  I have three of these cabbage leaf pedestal dessert stands in graduated sizes.

The bottom shelf holds more transferware and an ironstone pedestal bowl filled with gold apples, pears and figs.  The demijohn base bowl holds bumble bee napkin rings.

MORE TRANSFERWARE, IRONSTONE COMPOTE AND GOLD ACCENTS

I tied it all together with a selection of gold accents:  figs, apples, pears, bumble bee napkin rings, tassel bookends, artichokes and  weathered furniture finials.

MY VINTAGE CORNER CUPBOARD

One of my first large vintage purchases was this two-piece pine corner cupboard.  It was a large financial stretch for me but one I'll never regret.  I've styled it may ways.  Currently it's filled with ironstone, books, and black and gold accents.

Europalooza

Europalooza, yep, that's what we're calling our next sale.

Two of our co-op partners went on a ten-day buying trip to England.  Their finds at markets inspired the partners who were left behind to get on the Euro band wagon and fill our spaces with all things from across the pond and beyond.  We'll have demijohns, grain sacks, pottery, french tables, Belgian dressers, baskets in all shapes and sizes, cupboards, dough bowls, and so much more.

I was surprised by how much I could pull together.

What's more English than a 19c. Staffordshire chimney figurine?  The name "chimney" figure refers to its flat back.  This made it possible for the figurine to fit on the mantel or into a niche above the mantel.

I'll have vintage letters and this hand-painted suitcase.  See the folding camp stool on the left.   I have two.   Add a tray or a piece of glass and they'd be perfect garden end tables.

Maps are a hot decor trend.  

Who doesn't like ironstone?

Trending now, bamboo.

Old bottles, lab bottles and cloches are all hot to shop for.  In the foreground is a stack of scale weights.  Perfect for holding down papers on your desk.  Get organized.
