Orbs in the Garden

Why can't my landscaping always look as good as it does in the Spring?  Everything seems to have burst into blooms at once in my front yard.  Looking good even without the mulch.

My garden is filled with all types of ornaments among the blooms, but one of my favorite garden embellishments is the orb.  I've already shown you that my front porch has an orange and blue color combo going on.

Front Porch Last Summer

Well, my daughter and I were out shopping a few weeks ago and we both zeroed in onto a large garden orb.  It was huge and the perfect blue for my front yard.  She stood guard so no one could scoop it away from me while I looked for someone to help us lift it.   It was heavy, but we got it home and with some help placed it in the garden.  Perfect.

You know that I'm addicted to Pinterest.  I've been pinning images of orbs in the garden and wanted to share them too.

So, how do you add interest and dimension to your garden?

Kathy

I'm currently coveting a large disco ball orb.  I'm hoping to find one at an affordable price but haven't found one in my price range yet.  If any of my readers has a source I'd love for you to share.

  1. I don't have any orbs in my garden, but some of your images have given me some inspiration. I'll be on the watch for something to add to my garden. We have large stone urns on pedestals to add dimension to our garden, and I also put urns planted with geraniums or such in my beds among plantings so that it lifts the blooms in among the green ferns, etc.

  2. I know, right now everything looks so lush before the heat and humidity kicks in. Your yard looks lovely. Your orb is beautiful. I have to say I really like your roof! For years we had a double lots with several gardens. I loved it and spent hours ever summer working out there. When our last child headed off to start her new life so did we. We now have a tiny front yard that I love. My bird bath and cherub statue look so much better in this small space. Also, that huge tree in your front yard is perfect!

  3. I bought orb stones for the pool lounge chair side tables last winter and it was so much fun getting the new stuff out and getting the pool ready for the summer. Loved all your orb ideas and picked up some inspiration for a future project. Your gardens looked so pretty. I know what you mean, everything looking so lush and fresh and green. See you soon :)
