BRINGING MY ALLIUM INDOORS

Two years ago I  planted three Giant Allium bulbs.  The first year there was only one bloom on each plant.  They were so lovely.  They added some height and some early Spring interest to my garden.  Here's last year's bloom.  If you'd like to see the whole blog post, click  here or on the image below.

MY GIANT ALLIUM IN BLOOM

There's another reason to love the Giant Allium.  It dries naturally.

The first year there were only single blooms.  This year two of the plants had two blooms each.  Once they dried, I brought them in and added them to my demijohn that already held dried Allium from last year.  Here they all are together.  You can see that this year's blooms are a little greener.

My demijohn is the perfect vase for the flowers.

I wonder how many blooms I'll have next year.

SANTOS OBSESSION

I am absolutely obsessed with Santos cage figures and can always find a spot for them in my home.  I will admit that my children think they're creepy.  My relatives just shake their heads at me.  But, they do that with many things I do.  I just ignore them all and enjoy my androgynous decor.

This Santos is on my kitchen counter.

SANTOS ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER

You've seen this Santos in my foyer many times.

SANTOS IN MY FOYER

I have another on the mantel in my sunroom.

I also have Santos busts.  This one is a bookend wrapped in pearls in my family room.

There are two more in the upstairs hallway under my Audubon print.

I consider the figure in this vintage Versace poster a modern day Santos.

Would you/do you add a Santos----or two ----to your home?
