Diamond Antiques and Gifts

Whenever I go to my home town, no family visit is complete without a shopping excursion.  One of my favorite stops is Diamond Antiques.  Recently I was so excited when the owner, Dianna, told me that she was moving to a larger location.  She was purchasing a landmark building, Van Sciver's Paint and Wall Coverings.  I remember buying paint and wallpaper there on many occasions.

Dianna told me that she wanted to preserve something from the original store.  In her trademark thoughtful style she incorporated the heart that dotted the "i" on the original sign into her new signage.  She also reserved a section in the store where vendors can display local memorabilia that they have for sale.

Not only did she renovate the building in record time, but she also filled two floors with fabulous vendors, twenty five to be exact.  I enjoyed catching up with the vendors I knew and meeting the new equally sweet and helpful new dealers too.  I like the fact that these knowledgeable vendors will be  working in the shop.

My Mom, my sister and I attended the Grand Opening and had so much fun shopping--and sampling their refreshments.  The zuchini bread was especially delicious.

Please enjoy the snippets that I snapped.

As you can see, there's something for everyone.
I hope you can stop by if you're in the Pittsburgh area.

FYI, I love fans and bought the pictured one.  I also purchased the typewriter.  How could an old hippie pass up a typewriter with the word Woodstock on it?  I was drooling over the fur coat.  You know how I like animal prints.  But, I just couldn't wrap myself around the idea of a fur coat when it was 90 degrees outside.  I bought some other goodies too.

  2. Congratulations to Dianne on her new spot! It looks like a great place to shop.

It's funny that my two favorite things in the post were the typewriter and fan. Perfect that those are the things you bought.

    Have a great day.

  3. There are so few shops like this in our area. In fact- only one! LOL I have to drive around the state to shop- but I look at it as an adventure. This place looks like a fun one to peruse. :-)
