SPARKLE

New Year's Eve always says sparkle to me.  I do love sparkle.  How about you?

Here's some sparkle from around my house.  Let's end this year and start the new one with some shimmer, sequins and glitter.

I love this disco ball wine cooler on my bar cart.

A VERY PINK CHRISTMAS

Before I begin the post I want to say that for some reason old posts are re-publishing and appearing on the blog.  Sorry.

I've written about the updates my daughter and I have been making at her home.   Well this September she added a wonderful update.  We all welcomed our fourth granddaughter, Roxanne, to our family.

There's a new nursery which I haven't shared yet.   Of course any daughter of mine would never neglect decorating a nursery for the holidays.  She added this mini feather tree all decked out in pink.

The ornaments are sentimental.  Whenever I received my holiday shipments for the store, my daughter was the first person I called.  She helped me price an overwhelming amount of holiday decor and of course had first dibs on it all.  I haven't shared this yet because it still makes me sad, but in June I closed my store.  I've had a little home decor/accessory shop for almost 30 years.  Yikes.  It's an adjustment.  I have to say that while she kept the decor she chose from the store, I sold most of it.  I became a little teary when I saw so much of the store at her home.

I digress, enjoy these close-ups.

She did add a new ornament.

My daughter tucked the changing table in the alcove created by the sloped ceiling.  It was the perfect place for the boho peacock.  A store find of course.  We added a necklace for the holiday.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season.

MY HOLIDAY EMPTY FRAMES

Have you noticed that I love to use empty frames?  I wanted to share them, especially when they work for the holidays.  Some are from my home and some from the store.

CHIPPY WEATHERED FENCE GETS SOME HOLIDAY DECOR

Several years ago I added a vintage iron fence and gate to my cottage garden.  While my garden is resting up for the Spring,  I decided to add some holiday decor to it with a garland, some of the same satin ribbon I used on the boxwood wreaths,  and some Nandina berries.  I usually stick to natural greenery, but broke my rule and used some faux magnolia garland.

MY CHINOISERIE HOLIDAY TREE

A few years ago I used my Mom's vintage feather tree with some Kate Spade-inspired ornaments.  I prefer using a white tree.  I think the ornaments show up so much better.  I'll link at the end of this post to the Kate Spade Christmas tree if you'd like to see it.

This year I  decided to use the white feather tree again.  I swapped the classic Kate black and white for some blue and white Chinoiserie ornaments.  I mixed the blue and white ginger jar ornaments with some white pagodas with green ribbon.  I used my favorite rhinestone garlands too.  I wrapped the pillow on my settee with a rhinestone table runner to add some more sparkle.

I tucked the tree into a corner in my foyer.

If you follow my blog, you'll recognize the garden seat from my front porch.  It gives the tree some height and coordinates perfectly with the ginger jars and pagodas.

I added a preserved boxwood wreath to the brass wall sconce on my stair landing.  I used the same green satin ribbon that I used on the pagodas on the wreath.
